Growing up in today's complex world can be tough. There are many burdens that can weigh on a child's mind. For some, the weight of a mental health disorder makes the burden far heavier than it is for others. Mental illness in young children, pre-teens, and adolescents is widespread and often goes undetected, and ultimately untreated
Niagara Child and Youth Services is the primary provider of children's mental health treatment in Niagara. We offer a broad spectrum of treatment services and programs, delivered by highly qualified staff to strengthen children and families. We serve all children and youth from birth through to their eighteenth birthday.

All volunteers must be over the age of 18 as the services provided by the organization are for those up until age 18. Volunteers must also have their own transportation, pass a police check and be able to commit to working at least 4hrs/week for 6 months.
We mainly need volunteers who have time to assist us in the S.V.E.N. (Supervised Visitation and Exchange Niagara) program. NCYS provides a safe, neutral, and comfortable environment for either an exchange of children between parents, or supervised visits with non-custodial parents to take place. Volunteers are an essential part of providing this service. Working mostly on scheduled hours on Thursday evenings or during the day on Saturdays or Sundays, volunteers are trained to supervise visits between children and their non-custodial parents.
