The New Brunswick Advisory Council on Youth is a provincial body representative of youth, which voices the interests, needs, concerns and perspectives of young people aged 15 – 24, and presents recommendations to government and to the public. This is achieved by acting as an advisory body, through resource coordination, research and consultation. Through its actions, the New Brunswick Advisory Council on Youth strives to be a catalyst for increasing youth involvement in society.
The Council is composed of 13 young New Brunswickers representing all regions of the province and both official language groups.

What does the organization do?
The Council was established to give youth and youth organizations a vehicle through which to identify for government and the public matters of concern to youth and to encourage greater participation and integration of youth into the mainstream of society.

The Council was established to give youth and youth organizations a vehicle through which to identify for government and the public matters of concern to youth and to encourage greater participation and integration of youth into the mainstream of society.
The New Brunswick Advisory Council on Youth (NBACY) has undertaken several initiatives and is working in conjunction with community and government organizations in order to represent matters of concern to New Brunswick’s youth. Some of these key involvements include:
- Rock the Boat - recognizing community involvement, wellness issues, civic engagement, capacity building, and leadership development among youth in New Brunswick.
- Education - NB’s Provincial Curriculum Advisory Committee
- Alberta Centennial Scholarship
- The Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Youth in Action, Youth in Motion
- Youth and Democracy
- Healthy Eating and Physical Activity Coalition (HEPAC)
- NB Anti Tobacco Coalition (NBATC)
- Rural Youth Dialogue

The Lieutenant Governor in Council appoints all members of the Council.
