Nepal Youth Awareness Organization (NYAO) is a non-profit, non-government and non-partisan development organization registered under the affiliation of CDO and Social Welfare Council in 2008, which is based in Kathmandu.rnFor some decades back the world community has been facing various problems related to health and environment. The emergence of new diseases and increase in the frequency of deadly natural disasters, increasing number of youths being involved in the unwanted and unhealthy activities like early teen smoking, drug abuse, alcoholism etc. have brought a kind of threat to the society in its every aspect; be it to the individual health, society’s health or the individual economy or society’s economy. rnMeanwhile with the pace of development of industrialization and human civilization, the world has already put itself into the threat of degrading environmental status leading the earth to global warming and hence creating a lot of disturbances in the ecological balance.

NYAO aims to create awareness amongst the youths of society regarding the problems stated above; regarding health and environment. The objectives of NYAO thus are as follows:rnrnTo create awareness among the youths about the individual and social harms and hazards that are brought about by adopting unhealthy habits like smoking and consuming other tobacco products.rnTo encourage the youths to live healthy and tobacco free lives. rnTo help adolescents quit smoking if they are already into smoking and want to get rid of it. rnTo educate the guardians to encourage their children to stay away from tobacco and other unhealthy habits. rnTo help the youths understand and realize about the present condition of global environment and encourage them in an environmental friendly way of living. rnTo encourage the youths for conserving the greenery, to plant trees and save the planet. rnrnNYAO believes in working harder to bring positive changes in the society and make it healthier and safer to live in. It aims in broadening its area of awareness campaign throughout the nation and bring a considerable reduction in the number of teens smoking and improvement in the overall environment of the country. NYAO views plantation and its conservation as one of the important ways to save the environment and hence plans to plant minimum 10000 plants per year.

Nepal Youth Awareness Organization`s main objective is to educate the Youth of Nepal about the harmful effects of tobacco consumption by smoking and chewing. NYAO objective is to get fewer youth to start smoking. And also we will be to educate the youth of Nepal on environmental awareness.
