We are committed to the achievement and maintenance of excellence in heart care for the benefit of humanity.

With this aim, we utilize our existing resources:

1.To help prevent Heart and Lung Diseases by creating public awareness.
2.To promote early diagnosis and treatment of Heart ailments.
3.To help poor patients undergo treatment at concessional rates.
4.To perform Open Heart Surgery for indigent patients at concessional rates or free of cost.
5.To provide access to basic health care facilities for people living in underserved areas.

Kovai Heart Foundation http://www.kovaiheart.org is a registered, charitable, non-profit organization based in Tamil Nadu, South India. In a nutshell, KHF deals with healthcare in rural South India with a focus on Heart Care. Every week, free heart check-up camps are organized in various small towns and outskirts of rural Tamil Nadu, where patients are screened for heart disease and other common ailments, counseled and treated. We help provide financial aid for those who cannot afford the high cost of cardiac surgery. Meetings are conducted several times a week in the local vernacular dealing with fundamental healthcare issues.

We are in the process of setting up mobile medical units.These units consist of ambulances or motor homes that have been modified and given a new avatar as mobile clinics. The mobile clinics move from village to village. The clinic and team of healthcare workers and physicians spend approximately one week in a particular village; during this time, it acts as a basic ambulatory office and dispensary. Lectures on health, education etc. are given in the evening along with counseling on such issues as family planning, planned parenthood, child marriages, education for both boys and girls etc. It is estimated that 24% of the tribal population do not have adequate access to existing healthcare resources. These mobile clinics are designed to fill this need. Basic problems are solved onsite but patients with major problems are driven to the nearest tertiary care center.

3) Get involved by helping us arrange for financial aid for individuals requiring Life saving heart surgery.

4)Set up a class fund- help save one child during the year- in the process learn about heart disease, life in a third world country etc.

5)Talk to local healthcare professionals and help collect unused Antibiotics, sample medication etc. Which can be distributed during the free Medical camps.
