JMI places empowerment, with its emphasis on social inclusion and cohesion, at the core of its strategic development. For over 60 years, JMI has been 'Making a Difference through Music': using the power of music to bridge across social, geographical, racial and economic divides and creating a platform for intercultural dialogue.
With a head office in Brussels, JMI targets youth aged 13-30, with member sections in 43 countries organizing activities on a national level which embrace all styles of music, and coordinating cross-border exchange opportunities on the international level.

JMI is a global network providing opportunities for youth to engage with music, with an annual 36,000 activities for 5 million young people aged 13-30.
JMI coordinates and supports a number of international programs which provide opportunities for artists to cross borders and interact: Ethno, Imagine Festivals, JM Jazz World, Music Crossroads, World of Winds, World Orchestra of Jeunesses Musicales (WOJM) and the World Youth Choir (WYC).
