About Us
IHRE is a non-for profit organisation created in 1997 in Buea in the Republic of Cameroon and was legalise in 1998 with the aim of educating the Cameroonian population on Human Rights Education and related discipline with the interest of building and safeguarding a peaceful society where justice will reign. The institution has well trained lecturers in Human Rights Education and related disciplines. We have both voluntary workers and employed staff made up of Cameroonian and foreign nationals.
Institute for Human Rights Education is one of the largest Human Rights organisations in Cameroon today fighting against torture, summary executions, forced disappearances and all other forms of cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment in order to preserve Human Rights. It has at its disposal a network, SOS Torture, layers who constantly make intervention in cases of Human Rights violation in the Country. Urgent Assistance Programme are provided to any man, woman or child who is a victim of torture or other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment and in urgent need of help, be it medical, social and/or legal assistance. IHRE apart from the above activities, it also carries out the following:

- Offers studies programmes to students on Human Rights Education (link)

- Offers seminars and workshops to youths and trainers of Human Right Education (link)
