To provide appropriate education, intervention, training and advocacy to people with disabilities, so that these benefits may in turn lead to a major improvement in the awareness, empowerment and employment of people with disabilities.

The overall goal of the IEC Nepal is to empower and bring out the hidden talents of people with disabilities through technology and soft skills in order to increase their potentiality, creativity, employability and to help build an inclusive society.
The specific objective of IEC Nepal are:
1. To provide computer and managerial skills training for 200 blind persons in the span of 5 years,
2. To help at least 80 percent our beneficiaries to attain employment in their respective fields by the end of 5 years,
3. To promote and encourage for the optimum usage of free and open source software in their studies and at their work place,
4. To raise funds in order to have our own office and training center to make the project self-sustainable with in the period of three years

IEC Nepal opened its doors to its first project in Pokhara: the establishment of the Skills Development Center to be opened in Bagar. This center is aimed at providing the three basic skills needed for a blind or partially sighted person to be a fully functioning and contributing member in society. Participants in this six-month program will undergo training in technology, conversational English and basic management and administrative skills, ending with an internship for hands-on practice opportunities.
