HOPE ALIVE KENYA INITIATIVE is a non-partisan youth led Christian group of people from different religious convictions working for peace through justice, formed in the year 2002 on the realization that some youth were loosing hope in life. The groups have complementary skills, understand roles and goals, and are committed to achieving the goals together, effective teams that works together toward mutual goal, using their individual skills and supporting each other. They communicate and share Information; contribute the enhancement of peace through promotion and protection of human rights, peace building and peaceful co-existence, and sustainable socio-economic justice in and around East Africa.

The aspect is done through advocacy and civic education and creating institutions that would make this contribution among all East Africana’s irrespective of their class, colour, race, ethnicity, religion or political affiliation. Raising awareness on difficult issues affecting the society and strengthen facilitation harmonization and co-ordination mechanism between actors concerned with women and children’s rights. Poverty reduction through related socio- economic strategies and wealth creation through individuals, families, and communities taking advantage of the opportunities available to them by working, investing and in developing innovative ways to improve their lives.
Minimizing cases of corruption and malpractices by developing new strategies needed in fighting grafts and facilitate research and investigations that would help in mainstreaming governance at both community and national levels and enhance women’s participation in leadership. Building capacity and capabilities of youths and community to develop self reliance ideas and transforming them to practice, Sole responsibility of citizens to decide their political destiny for self determination to enable participation effectively in election of high integrity leaders.

The Executive Director
Paul Ogara is the Executive Director and Founder of Hope Alive Kenya Initiative (HAKI) He is among the pioneers of civic education in Kenya and founded the network of groups in order to pursue freely and effectively his quest for justice and good governance in Kenya and East Africa through civic education, lobbying and advocacy.
