Mission/Vision
To change attitudes to the use of violence, especially domestic violence in Guyana and by extension, the Caribbean and around the world. We hope for a society in which we do not have to exist or one in which the services we provide can be widely available

Help and shelter provides counseling services - both face to face and hot-line for domestic violence and child abuse and related issues. In addition, volunteers are invited to be a part of an extensive public education campaign which includes activities like workshops, etc. There is also a Shelter for abused women and their children, and also court support for victims of domestic violence and child abuse.

Opportunities for Youth
Young people can volunteer with Help and Shelter and learn more about domestic violence and child abuse and be a part of large network talking about violence, especially gender based violence. Young people can also benefit from the services offered by Help and Shelter
