The Global Information Internship Program trains youth at UC Santa Cruz in information and communication technologies and their application to solving social problems and creating new opportunities for social excluded groups. Along with learning new technologies students learn about global issues, project development, social entrepreneurship, grant writing and development field work.

Members and students in the Global Information Internship Program connect with organizations globally to collaboratively develop projects that use information and communication technologies (ICTs) to solve problems and create new opportunities. Students work on projects in the field for 3-6 months at a time that range from UC Santa Cruz, Fresno, to Kano and Malaysia and many other countries.
