The Eurasia Foundation awards the bulk of its grants in Russia using an "open-door" grantmaking policy, encouraging prospective grantees to develop innovative grassroots projects for funding consideration. In addition to its open door grants, the Foundation conducts specialized grant competitions based upon local need and demand, and manages several partnership initiatives jointly funded by other donors.
The Eurasia Foundation employs the following methods to achieve its mission:
Grantmaking programs for host country organizations and individuals;
Grantmaking programs for American and other organizations working with partners in the host countries; and
Projects initiated and managed by the Foundation.
