To build the capacity of young people to initiate and implement programmes that effectively meet the needs of their communities, while remaining consistent with national and international development goals. Development Partnership International is a model youth-led non-profit which seeks to redefine youth activism by empowering young people involved in social change and development initiatives so that they have the skills required to make their initiatives more meaningful and beneficial to their communities, while connecting them with networks and opportunities that will help them retain respect, recognition and relevance at both the international and national levels.

DPI has recently launched a new youth leadership programme which will support young people to participate in the development and implementation of poverty reduction strategies and also in the monitoring and evaluation of the same. As soon as funding becomes confirmed, the initiative will be piloted in 12 African countries. Internship opportunities are also provided to young leaders who wish to improve their skills for effectiveness in their organisations.
