We inspire, mobilise and unite young people to push back HIV and AIDS for life.
Inspire
Dance4Life uses dance, music, media and youth icons to open the hearts of young people and make them receptive, in a positive way, to the subject of HIV and AIDS
Through Dance4Life young people become aware of the HIV and AIDS situation in their local and in the global context
Dance4Life provides young people with personal stories of People Living with HIV and/or AIDS
Dance4Life’s approach makes young people realise and discover that they have a significant role to play themselves in pushing back HIV and AIDS
Mobilise
Dance4Life provides young people with the knowledge, skills and the tools they need to take action and show their commitment to pushing back HIV and AIDS
Unite
Dance4Life brings young people together to work for the same cause with the same tools
Dance4Life brings young people together in a (digital) Dance4Life community
Young people celebrate life and their involvement in the project together every other year on the Saturday before World AIDS Day at Dance4Life events around the world
Dance4Life links youth from around the globe together by satellite link during the Dance4Life events
Young People = School youth between the age of 13 and 19 year around the globe
Because:
o Young people are hit the hardest by HIV and AIDS
o Most young people become sexually active between age 13 and 19
o Young people are more receptive at this age
o Dance4Life wants to contribute to influencing the school curricula regarding these topics
Pushing back HIV and AIDS = Prevention = having a positive impact on reducing the number of people that get infected and/or are affected by HIV and AIDS, and, having a positive impact on the lives of people living with HIV or AIDS by reducing the stigma’s, discrimination and taboos that surround it.

The heart of Dance4Life is the Schools Projects. This is made up of four parts, the first being the Heart Connection Tour, when the tour team (of young people, PLWHA, dancers etc.) give workshops with dance and discussion about HIV and AIDS. Secondly there is a Life Skills programme based around SRHR. The third part is Act4Life, the active involvement of young people. This allows them to fundraise, or do their own awareness raising projects. The young people who have taken part in these activities are then invited to the bienniel Dance4Life Event, which takes place on 29 November 2009 in every Dance4Life country. During the Event is the live satellite connection, when all the youth all around the world are united while they dance for life.
