Creative Development Initiatives, a new British Columbia Non-Profit Society, is designed to implement international micro-development projects. Broadly speaking, these projects are aimed at improving economic sustainability, gender equality, and social justice.

Currently, CDI has undertaken several projects. One project aims to develop a sustainable heating system powered by solar panels for an educational community centre on the outskirts of Buenos Aires, Argentina. We are projecting that providing solar energy to community-based organizations in developing countries will become a primary focus of CDI. Another CDI project works towards the collection and distribution of medical equipment for accessibility such as wheelchairs and crutches for Lima, Peru. Fundraising has been carried out through the sale of Peruvian alpaca scarves, a native sustainable product of the region.

CDI is unique in that it provides opportunities for youth to become actively engaged in the international development process.

Roles are available in fundraising but also in areas that have been traditioally off-limits to youth such as project design and project implementation....
