Mission

Our mission as an organisation is the spread of knowledge and awareness among fellow human beings through the promotion of research, training and dialogue among key stakeholders in Society.

Objectives

* Promote research entrepreneurship and establish the Centre as knowledge based resource storehouse.
* Work as a policy think tank through systematic study and observations.
* Focus on information dissemination, capacity building and technology exposure by organizing seminars, workshops and exhibitions.
* Strengthen democratic institutions to enable coherent, reasoned and consistent policy formulation to intact social decorum.
* Sensitize the policy makers, planners and administrators about the urgency and strategy to resolve equitable development.
* Provide opportunities to scholars and students to gain practical experience in research, and writing analytical reports, through internship programs.

The Centre aims for social change by creating awareness among the General Public. The Centre attempts to provide better or alternative policy solutions for all the relevant issues concerned with the daily lives of human beings. This is achieved through the research programmes that will provide the platform for advocacy and action. Focus on youth facilitates our reach out to the larger sections of the society. Colleges, other academic institutions, youth organizations, cultural organizations, local bodies and self-help groups take an active role in this movement. The Centre has various activities to involve the youth for its programmes and thus facilitate the knowledge dissemination through them. The Centre has given importance to semi academic nature of research works so that it is easily understood even by the layman in the rural backgrounds. We have been successful in tying up with leading institutions so that some of our policy research and discussions go hand in hand with their academic requirements. This has assured credibility and successful reach out of the Centre. The Centre believes in spreading the knowledge through various mediums. Different programmes and activities of the Centre have been initiated with better understanding gained from the primary research projects.

The organisation was formed in 2004 by a group of visionary students with an aim to transform society through socio-economic development based on the spirit of democracy. We involve in the areas of research promotion, knowledge dissemination, capacity building and other grassroots initiatives. We believe that this would be a humble beginning towards its larger efforts aimed at the creation of an equitable, socially just and environmentally sound state enriched by democratic and secular principles.

We have over the years become an active research based organisation which among other public issues/concerns also includes education, disaster management, government policy and environmental issues. CPPR has been conducting state wide campaigns on the Right to Information Act (Gov. of India) and involved key stakeholders from government and public to address the issues of social accountability. CPPR provides opportunities for youth and students to engage in dialogue and debate on current education trends and changes in national policies. We are in the process of building up student – community forums comprising of representatives of the local communities, academia and students. We believe that these groups would be a platform to raise issues and create awareness amongst the general public.
