We envision a day when all people in our country and continent will have the opportunity to achieve economic security and pursue their aspirations. We also intend to overcome poverty by enabling the world’s poorest people to gain the hope for better future and improve their quality of life through the access to food security, drinking water, health, education, poverty, HIV-AIDS programs, micro credit, using local skills and practical, sustainable technologies to support development and humanitarian projects on relief and rehabilitations programs, to secure the empowerment of indigenous peoples, local communities, women, groups and individuals in developing countries.

Many youths in disadvantaged communities across Cape Town have computer knowledge below the level they need to function and integrate in today’s societies. Many children in the Townships or Rural and Sub-Urban areas have matriculated from high school without basic computer knowledge. Most of these youths sometimes cannot gain employment because of inadequate knowledge of micro-computer packages. The South African economy is moving towards a knowledge based society, resulting in organisations insisting on certain skills requirements in order to remain globally competitive. The inability of these youths to gain employment impacts negatively on the Human Development Index (HDI) of South Africa and most often these young people remain frustrated in poverty, demoralized and idle. This has had devastating consequences, as some of these youths, as a result idleness, end up in gangs or get involved in other social malpractices such as theft, prostitution, drug abuse among others. Many of our male children have been associated with murders, robbery, assault and drug dealing while their female counterparts are involved in prostitution.
CECHADEF through its initiative is going to offer many opportunity for a brighter future for these youth.
