Using the concept of the Ecological Footprint, the program stimulates environmental understanding and leadership among young Canadians, encouraging environmental citizenship for our future leaders.

What does the organization do?
The goals of the program are to instill Ecological Footprint thinking at the secondary school level, to encourage youth to undertake sustainable local action projects in their schools and communities, and to connect youth across Canada and internationally using a web-based forum.
Opportunities for Youth
Interested youth can sign up their class/club for CYEP through the web site (www.yep-canada.ca). A detailed Grogram Guide takes participants through the program step by step. The 10 best eco projects on a national level will have the opportunity to send a student delegate to an environmental...

Interested youth can sign up their class/club for CYEP through the web site (www.yep-canada.ca). A detailed Grogram Guide takes participants through the program step by step. The 10 best eco projects on a national level will have the opportunity to send a student delegate to an environmental conference that will be held in Vancouver in September 2007. There are also some cash prizes available for participating schools in Ontario, Manitoba, and Alberta.
