Art City has established a national reputation for being a leader in innovative community art programming and creative community development. Across Canada, Art City is seen as a successful model for building safer communities and providing healthy, creative environments for children and youth to flourish.
All programming at Art City is on a drop-in basis as well as free-of-charge.
Some of the programms include:
Drop-in Studio
Introduces participants to a wide range of art media including drawing, painting, sculpture, video, music, and performing arts. Up to 25 guest visiting artists facilitate workshops throughout the year with our skilled and talented staff.
Pottery - Classes in wheel and hand building instruction for both youth and adults.
Photography - Lessons in camera operation and darkroom developing.
Digital Art - Instruction in computer art applications including Photoshop and music composition.
Public Art Projects - Murals and sculptures in neighbourhoods that both beautify and engage residents.
Performances, Installations, and Exhibitions - Large scale projects including from parades, haunted houses, and exhibitions.

Opportunities for Youth
Art City offers numerous opportunities for youth and primarily caters to the youth population of Manitoba. Approximately 70% of the participants at Art City are Aboriginal. Art City is open to all ages, but the majority of our participants are children and youth between the ages of 6 to 13 years....

Art City offers numerous opportunities for youth and primarily caters to the youth population of Manitoba. Approximately 70% of the participants at Art City are Aboriginal. Art City is open to all ages, but the majority of our participants are children and youth between the ages of 6 to 13 years. Art City receives 25 participant visits per day, and an average of 400 participant visits per month.
