ALPS was founded in 1996 for organizing and supporting alternative language programs for teenagers and adults. Officially it was registered in 1998 as a non-profit and non-government organization. Aims: · Introduce the young generation to a national and world cultural background, develop · their creative potential, recognizing their individual creative abilities; · open the possibility of learning the national language and one or two foreign languages to high levels; · support unusual and non-traditional teaching or language learning projects; · organize academic activities for kids and teenagers as well as for adults who are interested in their further language promotion; · establish educational institutions where one can study to improve one's knowledge of foreign languages for jobs and/or where teachers can study to develop their knowledge of language, methodology, culture and literature. Included among the activities are: International Summer Language Camp for teenagers between 13-16 years old, the working languages are English, German and French; Conversational Young Speakers Club for teenagers between 13-16 years old, the working languages are English or German; ALPS Library. Included among the activities planned are: Studies abroad for teenagers and young adults; Course of Lectures on national, social and cultural subjects for children and teenagers.
