AEGEE - Association des Etats Generaux des Etudiants de l'Europe - the European Students' Forum, is a student organisation that promotes unified Europe through cooperation, communication and integration amongst young people of Europe. It aims to create an open and tolerant society, without prejudices of any kind. As a non-governmental, politically independent and secular, non-profit organisation AEGEE is open for students from all faculties.
In the last few years, AEGEE has mainly dealt with the topics of Higher Education, Peace and Stability, Cultural Exchange and Active Citizenship. These are the main pillars of AEGEE's development.

Summer Universities provide AEGEE members with the opportunity to, for example, learn Spanish or immerse themselves into the Turkish culture. These programmes, usually lasting for two weeks, aim to teach a number of languages and cultural perspectives. Regarding the fee, it is ensured that a maximum of 100 Euro, including food and lodging, is not exceeded.

European Conferences are being organised almost constantly! People coming from all over Europe, students and professionals, meet to discuss current events and exchange knowledge. These conferences cover a wide range of topics, such as, "Web Design", "The Power of Diplomacy" or "Music".

Case Study Trips offer the perfect way of learning more about a specific region in Europe. Around 20 participants travel through one or several countries, conducting field studies by means of questionnaires and interviews. The AEGEE network has ideal structure to ensure the success of such events, with active participation of all locals in the region.

Projects mainly consist of conferences, seminars, Case Study Trips and other activities, focusing on a particular topic. Some of the projects recently organised by AEGEE were "Borderless Europe", "Education for Democracy", "Peace Academy" etc.

Training Events have become increasingly important for human resources within the AEGEE network. In the year 2000, 11 internal education events have been organized. The main AEGEE training event is the European School. It gives participants not only a chance to learn more about work in AEGEE, but an opportunity for self-development and non-formal learning.
