Capacity Building
We need to continue to equip young activists of the SYCB's member organizations, as well as youths from other organizations of Burma, with knowledge and skills. For this reason, we will continue to organize trainings and workshops.
Seminars, Meetings and Conferences
In order to create a common vision for the future of Burma and to exchange ideas and experiences among young activists, we will continue to organize seminars, meetings and conferences. Furthermore, we will organize meetings with senior leaders and leading political forces to lobby for youth concerns and to enable youth participation in the policy-making process within the movement.
Grass-roots Campaigns
In order to achieve a smooth and sound process of national reconciliation, the emergence of a tripartite dialogue is of central importance; this dialogue must include all parties involved in existing conflicts, and it must insure that all strata of Burmese society fully participate in the process. We will organize and/or join with others in campaign activities on "Pressure for Tripartite Dialogue" and "Release All Political Prisoners".
Youth Exchange
In order to create a space where young people with different ethnic, religious, and ideological backgrounds can meet and share their opinions on various issues, we support and encourage local youth activists to organize a monthly youth exchange program. Of special importance in our youth exchanges are youth concerns, and discussion that promotes mutual understanding and friendship.
Exposure Trips
We are organizing a number of exposure trips to ethnic areas and refugee camps along the Thai-Burmese border in order to learn about the lives of ethnic people and their respective culture and tradition. We also meet with local youth communities and organizations. Youth delegates from member organizations of the SYCB participate on the trip.
Information and Public Relations
In order to raise awareness in the international community about the situation in Burma and the suffering of all the people of Burma under the brutal military regime, and to support the campaigns with materials, we are producing statements, pamphlets and posters. We also publish a bi-yearly magazine.
International Solidarity
We are participating in workshops, seminars and conferences put on by various international youth and students networks and organizations. We also organize campaign tours and/or studies trips to other countries.
