The National Council of Youth Organizations in Korea (NCYOK) was established by 15 domestic NGO youth organizations as a coordinating council December 8, 1965. Since then the NCYOK has been implementing integrated activities for the youth and youth leaders both to build a cooperating system amongst government, NGOs, educational institutes and international agencies; and to plan the study on juvenile delinquency and the exchange of information.
Through these efforts of NCYOK it has helped to contribute towards the enactment of the "Youth Fostering Law" and "Youth Charter of Korea". On November 11, 1988 its organization and function was enhanced as a specific corporation as a result of the "Youth Fostering Law". At present based on the Youth Fundamental Law (Article: 4477, Chapter 25) NCYOK has carried out the role of and function as the coordinating council of youth organizations in Korea.
