In a day and age where competition for profit leaves little space for young people to explore and take ownership for how our world works, it is remarkable that a student organisation should thrive on the energy of its own voluntary members.
DiA is run by young people for young people. It reaches out to engage others in some of the major challenges of our world today. If we are to meet the Millennium Development goals by 2015 (or ever), we believe that as young people, our constituency is a key target in changing attitudes to international development.

- Quarterly Magazine reaching Students, Teachers, Careers Offices, DECs, etc.

2 Training Programme: exploring the issues, planning a project, capacity building and empowerment for volunteer candidates going to India
3 Volunteer Scheme: hands on experience with locally based NGOs in India, support for completion of individual DiA Project (contribution to DiA Outreach)
UK- DiA is run by a committee of volunteers (mostly students / recent graduates), and employs 1 part-time graduate who works from home, and operates through a virtual office in cyberspace. Funding: Placement Scheme Fees and occasional grants.
India - DiA has links with 8 community based organisations (Delhi, Mumbai, Rural Madhya Pradesh, Bangalore, Pondicherry). Placements include teaching, community development, working with special needs children (deaf/blind), income generation schemes, research, fundraising/administration and media opportunities.
