Open Family's work is based on the street. Our streetworkers actively seek out alienated and excluded Australian children. In 1999, Open Family consolidated its position as a leading provider of services for street children and articulated a strategic plan for the future.
Our strategic intent is to place a streetworker within reach of all alienated children in Australia by the year 2010. We intend to chieve this by facilitating the deployment of 300 streetworkers around Australia. The majority of these will work under license, supported and trained by Open Family Australia but managed and funded by local community leaders.
