The Danube Bridge links Rousse (Bulgaria) and Giurgiu (Romania). In the past both cities belonged to a common settlement. The population was profiting from this favourable location - a cross-road of East-West waterways and North-South continental routes, of diverse ideas and practices.

The Danube Bridge links Rousse (Bulgaria) and Giurgiu (Romania). In the past both cities belonged to a common settlement. The population was profiting from this favourable location - a cross-road of East-West waterways and North-South continental routes, of diverse ideas and practices.
Now past is revisited to disclose opportunities for a common European future. The border is fading away and is being replaced by a EUROREGION. Both cities jointly intend to revitalize their cultural heritage and natural parks, to modernize their urban and rural environment, and to undertake sustainable development projects in many societal sectors.
