Equip communities and civil society groups with the skills to produce news for both radio and the Internet.
Providing a platform for individuals to publish news.
Promote values of ethical, independent journalism, working for and with communities and marginalised groups.
Increasing the space for civil society groups to air their views.
Specific outcomes include establishing a popular, interactive news site; training individuals and groups to produce a total of seven hours of radio programmes each week; and producing an informative, entertaining and ethical 2 and a half hour news programme daily, five days a week.

Radiq is a unique attempt to legally circumvent broadcasting legislation through the Internet. The first Bahasa Malaysia radio news service over the Net, it started out broadcasting 15 minutes of news daily. Due to the lack of radio expertise in Malaysia, all journalists had to learn radio principles from scratch. The project also put into practice values of ethical, independent journalism. News and features tended to be issue-based, looking at evictions, job cuts and union action, for example. It attempted to draw together the policy background to the problems experienced by workers, women and marginalised groups.
