Nutrir Pereira set itself to reduce the levels of Malnutrition in children - focus ages 5 -14 - of financially vulnerable communities within Pereira and its affected areas. These communities are characterised by high levels of unemployment, lack of coherent social welfare and forced displacements. Nutrir Pereira takes on itself to identify and characterise signs of infantile malnutrition within the city of Pereira and, within selected zones, supplements breakfast and lunches for the provision of optimal development. Our activities include:
- Hands on continual assessment of physical development of subjects
-Evaluation of response to the nutritional program
-We promote and participate in investigation and socioeconomic diagnostics, through the department of nutrition of Risearalda (Pereira)
-We introduce educational programs to the community aimed toward a healthy lifestyle.
