Afghan Youth Coordination Agency (AYCA) created in October 2002, as an outcome of the “First Afghan Youth Civil Society Conference” (organized by ACSF – Swisspeace in collaboration with other four youth groups in Kabul, Afghanistan), in response to the demand from many youth agencies and individuals who came from different regions and different social backgrounds for a coordinated approach among Afghan Youth in Afghanistan and Abroad.
The Afghan Youth Coordination Agency provides the framework within which youth organizations or individuals, the UN, donor agencies, and the government can exchange information, share expertise, set strategies for a more coordinated and effective approach for promotion of feelings of mutual respect, cooperation and peace in younger generation.

Presently AYCA has 15 members, Youth member Organizations, representing a mixture of different national youth groups. AYCA is officially recognized as a coordination body by the Afghan Government and several International organizations and donor agencies.

All activities of AYCA have the ultimate goal of promoting coordination among youth groups or individual activists, raising awareness, building capacities, giving youth a voice and advocating on their behalf.
