PEP/LA has demonstrated remarkable success in reaching young people. We maintain a team of 20-25 multi-cultural teen peer educators who are recruited from high schools, placement centers and group homes in the Greater Los Angeles area. All of the peer educators have received at least 24 hours of training and attend bi-monthly meetings where they get medical updates in HIV/AIDS, additional strategies for communication with peers and information regarding their upcoming speaking events.
