The International Relations Students Association at UBC seeks to involve students from different disciplines in dabate about international issues. IRSA aims at providing its members with tangible experience of how things work in the real world.
IRSA exists to help students in the International Relations Program get to know each other on a social level, and to also help tie all the theoretical knowledge gained in classes with the realities of living in a fluid international system. Not just for International Relations students alone, IRSA acts as a meeting place for students of all faculties who are interested in global events.

IRSA meets every Tuesday at 12:30PM at International House to discuss a multitude of topics, ranging from the War on Terrorism to deforestation. IRSA also frequently brings in guest speakers who are experts in their fields to talk about what is happening in their world.

IRSA meets every Tuesday at 12:30PM at International House to discuss a multitude of topics, ranging from the War on Terrorism to deforestation. IRSA also frequently brings in guest speakers who are experts in their fields to talk about what is happening in their world.
The association is also known internationally, as it hosts the annual UBC Model United Nations Conference every January and sends delegations abroad to various other Model UN's across the continent. Every year, IRSA sends a delegation to the United States' Model NATO conference, winning the 'Premier Delegation' Award four years running.
The organization also hosts a Night of 1000 Dinners every year to raise funds for demining operations across the globe. We hold a career fair with job, volunteer, and internship opporunities. IRSA also publishes the UBC Journal of International Affairs, which publishes works by undergraduate students.
