PHASE I.
· Learn about the region's biodiversity and its links to local and national biodiversity, ecosystem services and the impact of humans on biodiversity (ex: degradation, climate change); learn about current environmental situation in Rwanda and different approaches by the governmental and non-governmental organizations and policies and priorities in conservation; and understand the integrated approaches to conservation as interdisciplinary aspect. These elements of Phase 1 will be achieved through training and workshops led by practitioners and professionals in conservation.
· Capacity building in young students interested in conservation.
1. How to design a multidisciplinary research project and a grant proposal in that respect.
2. Learn about different methods of assessing biodiversity.
3. Training environmental clubs in secondary schools in Southern province of Rwanda.
4. Library
PHASE II
· Describe the most important local environmental problems
· List partners that would be interested to support the club
· Describe the concrete actions the club could manage to approach local environmental problems.
· Describe the tools required to achieve different goals.
PHASE III
· Small-scale projects run by the club members would include:
1. Assess waste management in households and local schools
2. Education on how to reduce and manage waste in communities and schools, how to use rationally water, energy and other resources.
3. Protection of flora and fauna
4. Education on reproductive health, raising awareness among communities about population growth and conservation issues.
5. Setting up a journal that would gather environmental related information.
6. Putting in place Clubs in secondary schools.
7. Organize discussions on the local radio: RADIO SALUS on environmental issues
8. Organize partnership with other Environment Clubs in and out of the countries.

· Setting up a club of young graduates and students interested in addressing about current environment problems. This involves sharing information about biodiversity conservation issues in Rwanda, and this outreach would be possible using different media such as internet, radio, journals, workshops and seminars etc.
· The club would be committed to supporting the governmental and non-governmental effort in solving environmental challenges locally. The best practices and experience acquired with regard to Club activities will help local and national environmental oriented policies. The Club will focus on small scale and educational programs in local primary and secondary schools.
