Youth NGO Iskra is a young organisation created as a base for projects and ideas of a group of Ukrainian students, exchange programs' alumni, Peace Corps Volunteers, and university staff working together in Mykolayiv and across Ukraine since 2004.
Iskra strives to promote intercultural and inter-religious dialogue, tolerance and fighting stereotypes, to educate young people on the topic of minority rights, and to actively engage them in volunteering on local, national and international levels.
The aims of Youth NGO Iskra are to introduce the concept of multiculturalism in Ukrainian society; to transmit positive attitude to and acceptance of different minority groups, e.g. migrants; to involve youth into small-scale volunteer projects and to support them in joining international volunteer programs.
We see our general mission in participating in the building of a more tolerant and more accepting society in Ukraine.

- a row of presentations in schools and universities about the Youth in Action Programme (European Voluntary Service and youth exchanges) and other academic & non-academic opportunities abroad.
- preparations for the next summer of camp. This time it will be named Camp CACTUS, and will teach civics and leadership skills to a group 100 Ukrainians and about 15 international students aged 16-22.
We are also acting as a Sending Organisation for Action 2 projects of the Youth in Action Programme (EVS). We are the only organization in our city of 500,000 inhabitants able to provide this service. We currently have 8 young people preparing for EVS.
