Connectivity Africa aims to improve access to information and communication technologies (ICTs) in Africa by applying Canadian expertise especially in relation to education, health and community development.

Connectivity Africa (CA) was announced during the 2002 G8 Kananaski Summit. It will build on Canada's experience in connectivity projects in Africa and adapt Canadian expertise and models to the needs of African countries, particularly in education, health and economic development.

Connectivity Africa (CA) was announced during the 2002 G8 Kananaski Summit. It will build on Canada's experience in connectivity projects in Africa and adapt Canadian expertise and models to the needs of African countries, particularly in education, health and economic development.
Connectivity Africa consists of four components which are :
* Innovation in the use of ICTs
* African Regional ICT futures
* Research and development in African ICTs
* Partnership and convergence
Connectivity Africa is being implemented by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), in partnership with the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA). The initiative will also work closely with IDRC Acacia intitiative and other African-focused ICT initiatives such as DFID's CATIA project and the French government's ADEN network.
