ClimateHimalaya, a network of environmental change professionals in the Himalayan region, is an independent, informal and informative (3Is) not for profit organisation which aims to increase public awareness on various issues pertaining to global change at global level and its impacts in the Himalayan and downstream countries and efforts made at local, national and regional level to tackle the climate chaos and associated environmental changes, particular in the region and at the global scale in general.

It is a unique institution that provides individuals and groups from across the world with the opportunity to share and learn on numerous levels about subjects relating to environmental and social sustainability thus making this platform a rich repository. Moreover, it brings together a partnership of individuals, and institutions with a commitment for development action thus ensuring the synergies to secure a better future for the people and environment.

This institution has been trying to create awareness about the environmental challenges encountered in the Himalayan region, along with inspiring professionals towards solution oriented research, information and knowledge sharing, practical and intermediate projects implementation to better the livelihood of vulnerable communities and enable them to replicate the ideas elsewhere, wherever needed.

Changes to our environment affect not only the physical landscape but also the flora, fauna and lives of the people living on our planet. The areas one could potentially work in are very diverse but frequently related. Environmental problems and third world poverty are at the heart of the political agenda and they often go hand-in-hand. One of the main strategic aims of this organisation is to support and facilitate a more effective interaction between people from different parts of the world and help on environmental policies. Hence to meet its vision, this organisation being lead by Youths working the area, also mobilises the youths who are interested and will try to work so as to meet our goals and such youths are always welcome in our network.
