Our Vision
A relationship between humans and the natural environment which ensures the integrity and sustainability of the Earth's life support systems, the on-going evolution of natural living systems and the well-being of every person in a sustainable population.
Our Mission
To establish Australia as a global model of, and to assist other nations toward, a sustainable ecological life-support system, retention of species diversity and human wellbeing, by influencing public debate and policy with particular emphasis on population size.

Sustainable Population Australia* - SPA was formed in 1988 by people who felt that the issue of population numbers was overlooked, or regarded as too contentious, by many of those striving to preserve Australia's ecological heritage.

Sustainable Population Australia* - SPA was formed in 1988 by people who felt that the issue of population numbers was overlooked, or regarded as too contentious, by many of those striving to preserve Australia's ecological heritage.
It has held public meetings and conferences in many parts of Australia. SPA branches around the country promote SPA's ideas, study local problems, lobby politicians and recruit new members.
Some branches hold regular meetings but the main link between members is the quarterly Newsletter. This provides members with information and expert opinion to rebut the many myths about sustainability and population that one hears in conversation or sees in the press.

To ameliorate and educate the broad populace and to instigate action towards the drastic and epidemical population increase within Australia and beyond, this opportunity is open to all regardless of age.
We are an ecological group dedicated to preserving species' habitats globally and in Australia from the degradation caused by human population growth. SPA works on many fronts to encourage informed public debate about how Australia and the world can achieve an ecologically sustainable population.
