background of project
the youth development and aged welfare foundation chooses soap making, because through out our findings there were no active trading activities in the community.
one reason why we chose soap making is that there are some trainers who really know how to make soap and their willingness to help train and equip those who does not know how to make soap learn and have it as their trading occupation.
apart from the trainers, there are also some materials available that can help train the 40-aged group to have easy access to materials for soap making.
it is also easier to improve skill, since the community are ready to help in any communal lab-our to construct shed for soap making and any necessary assistance that we will need.
we chose nkawkaw (abepotia) because our source of information we gathered indicated that, there are no active business going on apart from farming in the community, and we feel that soap making will help the 40 aged group with occupation and by so doing the soap making will improve their income generation for their family up-keep.
