The department is having people in various disciples who are working to make it a point that the vision of the department is accomplished, a lot of initiative are in place to support the vision such as Organic farming initiative, Participatory Extension Approach where in every decision taken, farmers have a say.

There are various institutes within the organization, such as training centres, research institutes, districts and municipalities. Services are offered to the farmers depending on the need. Training institutes help the farmers by transferring knowledge and skills in various sections such as soil science, agronomy, animal production, horticulture, food processing, e.t.c whereas research institutes are working to try to answer some of the questions that farmers may have, and also they take the lead on new developments which are taking place.

Well opportunities for youth especially in the province (Limpopo) are there, Limpopo is recognized as one of the poverty stricken province, so the organization is working to make sure that youth are involved in the sector, this is done my supporting high schools to make gardens, offer bursaries to students who want to further their studies in the field, young people are also employed by the organization. The organization also support young people to be involved in community projects where training will be given to them by the training institutes, advices by the municipal officers and also research will be conducted by the research institutes.
