YouUnited aims to redefine the 13 priority neighbourhoods in Toronto by engaging YOUth to bring about a renaissance of civic culture in their communities. This summer with the support of our partner community members and organizations, we will be holding festivals of unprecedented size and scope in three of Scarborough’s priority neighbourhoods. By embracing the diversity of the communities we work for, the YouUnited Neighbourhoods Festivals will be a true reflection of each neighbourhood’s strength, culture and potential.

YouUnited is a youth led community organization. Our mentoring program provides youth the opportunity to work with community members and industry professionals in the orchestration of successful community events.
This summer of 2008, Younited will be hosting a series of festivals in 3 of the eastern Scarborough Priority Neighbourhoods. The Festivals will end of with a fourth wrap-up festival at a location that is still pending. We want to YouUnited by showcasing the potential, cultural vibrancy, and talent in each of these communities, with the hopes that it will spark positive change for the future.

The skills and experiences that the youth gain by working with YouUnited will help them become active role models in their communities and future leaders within the Toronto. Our festivals provide youth artists platform to showcase thier talent and community members a fun volunteer experience.

In following years, our goal is to help other neighbourhoods organize their own unprecedented event that showcases youth potential, community talent, and unity.
