The purposes of the Organization shall be:
1. To document and validate Zambian culture and technology. In order to achieve this purpose, ZANOBA members will collect scientific data, information, and artifacts from urban, rural districts and villages of Zambia.
2. To promote acquaintanceship and communication between all those who are genuinely interested in the documentation and validation of Zambian culture and technology: newsletters, public meetings, conferences, and retreats. Each branch will have a ZANOBA District Resource Center that will house a museum, a library, research room, and administrative offices.
3. To educate, stimulate and promote public awareness of the nature and significance of Zambian culture and technology so that the public will be better informed in Zambia, on the African continent, in the United States, Canada, Europe, and the rest of the world.

The organization was founded in 1995.

Opportunities for Youth
Students from educational institutions such as schools, colleges, universities, and the general public will have access to the copies of materials such as books, newsletters, tape recordings, videotapes that will be produced by or on behalf of the ZANOBA organization.

Students from educational institutions such as schools, colleges, universities, and the general public will have access to the copies of materials such as books, newsletters, tape recordings, videotapes that will be produced by or on behalf of the ZANOBA organization.
All the published research and artifact exhibits done by the ZANOBA organization will be available to the public without discrimination. The materials will be available for consultation for educational and scientific use by students ranging from elementary school, college and university students.
The information published by ZANOBA will be available to the general public through its museum and resource center. If affordable, copies of published will be mailed to the public upon request.
ZANOBA will organize and sponsor activities such as public discussion groups, slide shows, forums, panels, lectures, plays, dance performances, and other cultural and technological demonstrations. These activities will disseminate knowledge about Zambian culture and technology to elementary and secondary schools, colleges, universities, and the general public.
ZANOBA will use radio, television, print and other media to spread the knowledge about Zambian culture and technology.
