C- Support is thus set to achieve this goal. Among others, it is also set to:
• Provide leadership in communication on broad development issues covering environment, reproductive health, maternal health, child health and epidemiology and control of HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections, through scientifically researched communication strategies, capacity building, training, advocacy, and interdisplinary research and program evaluation. Develop and house a resource center for communication materials as well as provide media and materials clearing house with emphasis on developmental activities.
• Organize and establish training and research facilities for information and communication programs and collect and disseminate information thereon.
• Organize and coordinate capacity building activities including, workshops, seminars, development of communication proposal, concept paper, performance and needs assessment, project evaluation, monitoring, social research, workshops and conferences and social marketing.
• Provide technical communication assistance and services through various media outlets (Radio, TV & Print) for local and international demands on BCC/IEC.
• Through modern state of the communication skills improve access and promote the adoption of responsible developmental and health practices.

Recent assessment of Behavior Communication environment of Northern part of Nigeria demonstrates a major gap in access to information and poor communication resources that could guide individuals, institutions and non governmental organizations achieve their objectives in development programs in the region. It is evident that there are no established BCC resource centers that can serve the regional demands for a planned and well articulated Information, education and Communication resources.
Since its conceptualization February 1999 as Information Resources & Network Services (IRNS, Communication Support Centre (C-Support), has been making impressive strides to fill in the gap in the field of behavior change communication in the Northern Region. As an indigenous non profit making, non governmental organization. It began operation in March 2001 and duly registered in July 2004 with the Corporate affairs Commission (BN-0018925 KN) and with Kano State (Reg. 10111). It is structured with the Governing Board made up of trustees program staff whom are all responsible for setting up action plans and formulation of strategies that influence and contribute to the good fortune, progress and development of C-Support. With its corporate base located in Kano. C-Support is structured to provide integrated multi media and strategic communication support for social sector programs (health, education, environment, agriculture, economics and politics).
C-Support is dedicated to achieve the following objectives:
• Strengthen individual skills and institutional capacities of organisations working the field of behaviour communication change to develop and implement strategic focused programs.
• Provide information and media linkage for national utilities and metering resources to support individuals and NGOs to improve the quality of their activities
• Expand the frontier of knowledge and skill in strategic communication through research, program planning, design, implementation and evaluation.
• Support the documentation and dissemination information, media materials, lessons learned new technologies through training, conferences, discourses, workshops, distance education and other communication channels.
• Enhance professional opportunities for individuals in behaviour communication for change
• Support a stronger voice for the communication experience and change in Nigeria, through promoting the values of communication for development.
In collaboration with many other partners C-Support design and implement strategic communication programs that influence political dialogue, collective action, and individual behavior change; enhance access to information and the exchange of knowledge to improve health and health care; and conduct research to guide program design, evaluate impact, and advance knowledge and practice in health communication. C-Support is conversant with a variety of well tested communication theories to support variety of activities in :-

IYDC is a youth development centre unit of Communication Development Support (C-Support) Kano established in the year 2003, and registered in 2004 with the Corporate Affairs Commission (C.A.C). The centre was established to create an enabling environment for youths to develop those competences they would need to become effective and responsible future leaders
IYDC focus on youth development programs with the aim of empowering youth in Kano state with the ability and motivation to work collaboratively with each other toward community and national development. Some of IYDC core programs include community development services ,out of school vocational training, and in school activities, youths talent hunt, workshop, and seminars (adolescent reproductive health, education, gender, democracy and good governance, HIV/AIDS, conflicts and resolution, corruption and transparency, youth and leadership development ), excursion, computer training, rural youths training, talk show.
