PRAVAH’S PROGRAMS
Inspiring Citizenship Action
From Me to We, Pravah’s curriculum on citizenship education, is delivered through intensive workshops in schools. From Me to We builds life skills in the adolescent participants, facilitates them to deal with conflicts positively, and equips them with the skills to become active citizens. The curriculum supports participants to implement social action projects.
The Friendship Udankhatola (FUN) Camp, a week-long program, enables urban school students to live in, interact with and learn about rural communities and the development issues therein. FUN camps culminate with the campers working in villages to fulfill a community need. The Return FUN Camp creates similar opportunities for rural students.
Global Xchange is an international volunteering program that aims to build mutual respect and understanding in young people and to facilitate them to become active citizens in an increasingly global world. Pravah partners with Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO), UK, to conduct this program.
SMILE (Students Mobilisation Initiative for Learning through Exposure) is a program in universities. SMILE creates spaces for young people to understand social realities, learn skills for social leadership and demonstrate active citizenship. SMILE facilitates young people to volunteer in urban and rural NGOs, address social issues through the youth clubs, and influence public opinions through campaigns.
Youth for Development (YfD) is a 6 month long program, which seeks to offer young people from India an opportunity to develop skills and gain valuable experience in development as well as to contribute to development issues by interning in an NGO in India. Pravah partners with Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO), India, to conduct this program.
Facilitating Citizenship Action
The Teachers Training intervention (The World is My Classroom), facilitates school teachers to design citizenship education curricula within the existing educational framework, equips them to deliver these, and links the process of education with social realities. The intervention creates opportunities for teachers to interact, share and learn from each other.
Research and development activities undertaken by Pravah seek to strengthen interventions on citizenship education, youth development and volunteerism.

Streaming of Citizenship Action
Fellowships, comprising of financial and mentoring components, are offered to young people engaged in citizenship action. The fellowships support them in the critical first phase of their endeavor as active citizens.
Change Looms, an annual program in collaboration with Ashoka - Innovators for the Public, recognizes young social entrepreneurs across India for their outstanding social justice initiatives.
Pravah’s Streaming Initiative partners with voluntary organizations nationally and internationally and builds their capacities to design and implement youth development and citizenship action programmes.
Pravah supports the start-up of new youth initiatives and organizations across India by offering support in visioning, mentoring and organization development.
