No War Zone, an initiative of War Child Canada, is a global network of youth in support of peace building, human rights and war-affected youth.
Objectives:
1. To grow an international community of youth and educators around the world in support of human rights, sustainable development, peace-building, and global education;
2. To promote local partnerships and build local capacity by enabling young people to collaborate on interactive, youth-driven humanitarian and development projects benefiting their communities;
3. To foster global understanding by providing a forum for young people to share their culture, history and experiences;
4. To provide resources for young people to expand their skills in peace-building, sustainable development, communication, problem solving, critical thinking, internet technology and project management;
5. To provide resources and quality educational content for teachers to incorporate No War Zone in their classrooms and share their experiences with educators from around the world; and
6. To provide training as well as ongoing support and follow up to the members of the No War Zone community in unaffected and in war-affected countries.

No War Zone is a collaborative project initiated by War Child Canada and its local partners in four war-affected regions of world (Afghanistan, Colombia, Sierra Leone and the Thai-Burmese border), as well as, in the pilot phase, schools from across Canada. It carefully and responsibly combines skills training, education, rehabilitation and psychosocial support for war-affected youth with the creation of a school-based platform for global understanding and the sharing of educational resources.
No War Zone uses a website to connect youth around the world.
The No War Zone website includes:
-A workspace for young people around the world to build, fundraise and implement collaborative projects to benefit their communities.
Online resources for youth and educators on international humanitarian issues
-A forum for youth expression through art, photographs, music and writing
-A platform for discussion through chats and discussion boards
-Resources and lesson plans for teachers and educators
