The Youth Parliament of Canada (YPC) is the Official Voice of Canadian Youth to the Federal Government. The YPC is structured in a way where youth are engaged in and being educated on the Canadian Government System. The Youth-Politicians are elected by youth from all across Canada through Voting on Demand which is a secure online voting system.
The Youth Parliament of Canada is structured the same way as the actual Government and consists of 105 Youth-Senators and 308 Youth-MP’s. The YPC House of Commons and YPC Senate meet in person bi-annually and online monthly to debates bills and other agenda items that are currently on the table of the Federal Government of Canada. The decisions made by the youth are then shared with the public and MP's.
The structure of the YPC is exactly like the Government of Canada and the previous Youth Parliament but with a few minor adjustments. Elections will be held online, the Senate will be elected, no political parties will be represented in any way allowing the youth to speak and debate as unbound individuals, and the Youth Parliament of Canada will not represent any religion or religious group.

The YPC House of Commons discusses and debates all issues which are currently on the table of the Canadian House of Commons pertaining to youth as well as any additional issues Youth-MP’s place on the table. The YPC House of Commons, after debate/discussion, will then formalize recommendations, proposals, and/or decisions of endorsement which will be presented to the MP’s for review, after they are approved by the YPC Senate.
A Youth-MP is responsible for bringing issues to the table and representing their riding when participating in discussions/debates in the YPC House of Commons. A Youth-MP is also responsible for maintaining contact with their Canadian MP counterpart. A Youth-MP only serves a four year term and cannot exceed the age bracket of 16-24 during their term.
Also, YPC Federal Staff Personnel are ‘hired’. Federal Staff Personnel are responsible for supporting and assisting the Youth-MP’s. All YPC Federal Staff Personnel serve on a one year term basis but can be re-hired up until they reach the age of 24. There is also a strictly volunteer position entitled “Election Official”. Election Officials assist with all YPC Federal Elections under the direction of the YPC Chief Electoral Officer. They do not receive an honorarium and assist strictly with promoting and distributing the election information to youth.
Finally, Each province has a Provincial Youth Parliament and Municipal Youth Cabinets which youth ages 14-24 are encouraged to get involved in as well.
