Available statistics indicate that 9, 8 and 7 out of every ten people are below the poverty line in the Upper East, Upper West and Northern Regions respectively

Youth Alive is a non-profit making organization incorporated under the Companies Code of 1963 (Act 179) registration No. G.9274 on January 31, 2002. We exist in Ghana to alleviate the plight of street and vulnerable children in the country. Promoting active participation and the building of relationships with the children in collaboration with their parents, guardians, and local communities. Through training and education we hope to give children a better future.

Youth Alive operates in the poorest parts of Ghana. The majority of the youth, both male and female migrate to the big towns in search of non-existent jobs. They end up living and working on the street for their survival. We seek to change this trend by giving street and needy children/youth a second chance at normal growth and development. A vital part of our work is providing children with the chance of attending a school and having a proper education.
