To build a permanent community, resources including natural, human, funds and assets that can increase the extent of effectiveness and efficiency by which the pastoralist community of Turkana living in Lokitaung can have a responsibility for the production of their own food through small scale agriculture as well as conserving environment.
OUR VISION
To be a leading youth participatory network that is capable of strengthening the abilities of young nomadic pastoralist to innovative and creatively respond to development initiatives.

Lokitaung Youth Outreach Program (Lyop) is a youth collaborative and participatory network in Lokitaung, Turkana district, Kenya. The network is legally registered with the government of Kenya under the department of Social Services. Lyop is focused on enhancing the capacity of young pastoralist people of Lokitaung in areas of resource mobilization, asset building, institutional development and fundraising.
Lyop was formed in April 2004 and the initiative for its formation was spearheaded by Lokitaung Catholic mission who felt that it was desirable to have a youth participatory program as a strategy to jointly respond effectively to development changes.
