Our Motives:
Afghan society, like any society else, must contain all components of developed civil societies such as human rights associations, women rights associations, different unions, environmentalist groups and etc. Among these, youth associations have a very important position. Youth associations and unions can play a very significant role in supporting and training talented youth for the different organizations and governmental bodies.
Unfortunately, the present condition of youth is very discouraging since the negative impact of the prolonged war in Afghanistan on youth has gone very deep. A large number of youth were forced to join the army or guerrilla groups and deprived from education. Another large sum of them left for neighboring countries and changed into people having indifferent behaviors and feelings towards their homeland. Just a small group of youth could get the opportunity to receive education and job opportunity which is negligible.
As a whole, it is difficult to find a youth who has the desire to think about the fundamental problems that Afghans are facing. In current situation, just disappointment and hatred towards the legacy of the previous generations is dominating the phenomena among Afghan youth.
Creating interest and favor in Afghan youth to dedicate themselves for their homeland and take active part in the process of rejoining the world community, is the top priority of Afghanistan Youth Center.
Since, a very short time passed from the end of the war and collapsing of the Taliban regime, urgent response to the expectation of youth seems very necessary. They must be helped to get ready to face the new challenges for reconstruction of Afghanistan. It is obvious that youth as the future policy and decision makers of Afghanistan must be familiarized with the new world and its existing rules.
