The labour administration is a modern and flexible cooperation partner with employers, employees, microentrepreneurs, unemployed and interest groups, a strong expert in labour markets and an internationally esteemed actor, which by labour and immigration policy substantially contributes to:
·making the employment rate of Finland take the international lead,
·making skill-based growth rapid,
·securing the availability of labour needed by enterprises,
·approaching full employment,
·reducing structural unemployment and other unemployment, thus making it possible to fight poverty and exclusion,
·increasing equality in the labour market and reducing the division of work between women and men in the labour market,
·increasing the safety of employees and the flexibility needed by enterprises in working life,
·investing considerably in the development of work organizations and their staff at workplaces,
·increasing well-being at work and making people remain in working life longer than at present,
·making people experience work as the primary source of livelihood and
·balancing the regional matching between demand for and supply of labour.
