The leadership of the world lies partially on the older generation and mostly on the younger generations. Egerton University Model United nations (EUMUN) has the vision that the youth are given the opportunity to train themselves to be the future Diplomats and World Leaders who are able to articulate matters arising of Global concern. It is in getting involved with the activity relating to the global issues that we will get ample experience to face the future as the coming up global leaders. Things to do with the Millennium Development Goals are the stepping stones for us as youth to get involved in the whole world affairs for the betterment of the future generations survival. It is for these reasons and many not high-lightened but are equally important that Egerton University Model United Nations war founded by the students for the students from Egerton University as a chapter of the greater Kenya Model United Nations (KMUN) which the umbrella organization whose headquarters is at the University of Nairobi.

Egerton University Model United Nations tries to emulate the undertakings of the United Nations as a world body. It is for this reason that it is termed as just a model. We take action on the protection of the environment, conservation of the environment, creation of the environment awareness through organizing of seminars, workshops and events. This is done through the Model United Nations Environment Program (Model UNEP) agency. We are also engaged in Humanitarian acts such as visiting the less fortunate in the society among other activities through the Model Office for the Co ordinations of the Humanitarian Affairs (Model OCHA), amongst many other activities. It is fundamental to note that Egerton University Model United Nations tries all it can also to promote gender parity in all its activities.

Egerton University Model United Nations Through its Model Agencies gives a lot of opportunities to its members the chance to be practicing world up coming Diplomats who will be able to discuss an give solutions to various problems afflicting the world. This is through organizing the various general assemblies so that members can have a forum to discuss issues affecting them. Egerton Model United Nations also offers opportunities to many youth who are not within the University perimeter to get involved hand in hand towards achieving the eight Millennium Development Goals through organized workshops and activities bringing together every stakeholders as everyone, both intellectuals or otherwise are supposed to play a part in the solutions to the problems that affect the world so that all the benefits gained so far are sustainable through accountability.
