Our mission is to set a youth vision and action plan for a ‘youth friendly’ Victoria where youth feel they have both a place and a voice in the well-being of the city. We also want to create a process where Victoria is better able to meet the needs of its’ youth population, and where youth are seen to be an integral part of the community as a whole. Our final report will lay out a vision for the Victoria that we see possible, through a thorough investigation of the dreams and hopes of youth.

To create a youth-friendly Victoria, our youth team will work with a mentoring coordinator and youth coordinator to research past, current and upcoming projects detailing the lives of youth in the city.

To create a youth-friendly Victoria, our youth team will work with a mentoring coordinator and youth coordinator to research past, current and upcoming projects detailing the lives of youth in the city.
We will facilitate discussions between youth, service providers and our research team, in order to get a sense of how youth see themselves, the opportunities and challenges currently present, and where they would like to see change.
We are also going to consult the public during three different community consultations; here we will ask adults and youth, in various careers, sectors and life-stages to comment on the situation of youth in Victoria. When we compile our research and data, we will creatively present this information at a special event, to which involved individuals will all be invited.

We want to ensure that as many youth are involved in this project as possible, so we encourage youth to be in touch with us if they have any questions about our project. We need youth facilitators to lead discussions, and to help us with the community consultations and a public presentation. We are also looking for youth to submit art projects of their view of a youth-friendly Victoria to display at our final presentation.
