In the Dominican Republic, the campaign is based on the National Law on Youth (49-00) and focuses on strengthening and achieving the share of municipal budgets allocated to 6 Youth Departments in the municipalities of La Vega, Constanza, Jarabacoa, Elias Piña, Jimani and Santo Domingo N.D.; with the goal of increasing investment in youth and HIV prevention activities in these youth departments. To achieve this, the Dominican Republic GYP team is, among other things, engaging with mayors and local council men/women through a series of roundtables and other similar events to convince them of the importance of investing in young people and HIV prevention.
